o Role: Supervisor, leading a team with the daily running of a milkshake shop, keeping a clear kitchen, and food preparation.
o Skills developed: Working as a team in close proximity under pressure, being entrusted with the money and security of the shop, improved customer service, higher knowledge of food and work place hygiene.
AWE, Summer 2017
o Work Experience with photography department
o Role: Photographing charity events, prize-givings, and shadowing professional photographers.
o Skills developed: Increased photographic skills, including finessing of studio lighting and Photoshop technique, professionalism of handling documents and files in a secure environment.
Freelance photography, 2015 – present
o Role: Photographing events such as christenings, proms, and baby groups, editing images and delivery of images to client
o Skills developed: Dealing with the time pressure of turn-around of images so that products are delivered to client in good time.Learning how to deal with large groups of people with a wide range of ages, especially new-borns. And developing my communication skills through working with the client and discussing what they want as well as working out the correct day rate. Being a self-motivated individual was also key when working freelance.
Waitress for a freelance catering company, 2016
o Role: Working with the chef before the event, helping in the kitchen with food preparation, keeping a clear kitchen, helping to get food and equipment to event, working the event as a waitress, and then working with the team to clear up after event.
o Skills developed: Working as a team in close proximity, listening to chef when jobs were being delegated, having to work with a time pressure for the event, further practice of basic culinary knowledge.
